Ways To Give

“Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Luke 6:38

Giving is a biblical principal that when lived by, produces a rich harvest in our lives.

Giving is not limited to simply our finances; it’s a lifestyle. When we live with the spirit of giving, when we give the Lord our tithes and our offerings, when we give to those in need, when we give of our time, our love, our resources, we are sowing seeds that God will make sure blossoms into a rich harvest! Not just of financial blessings, but rich in all aspects of life. He’ll make sure the right doors open, the right people come into your life, and the right breaks are received.

God desires for you to be the most blessed and most prosperous in the land, that we prosper in our homes, relationships and in health. Make sure you work with God and allow His door of favor and provision to open like a flood by putting actions to your faith through giving.

And we don’t give to simply receive. The important thing is that we live with the spirit of giving. God is more concerned with the condition of your heart as you give, rather than the quantity.

It is through our giving where the greatest blessings and provision can be seen.

Other Ways To Give

Endowment

Salisbury Congregational Church is blessed with a generous endowment, a percentage of which is allotted to church work annually. Annual Fund-raising The Salisbury Fall Festival, held on the second weekend of October, is a time for us to come together as a community and raise funds for local charities. All the monies raised go to support local non-profit groups.

Special Emergency/ Relief Giving

Sometimes a special need in the congregation (a mission trip, a member's medical bills) or in the community (United Congregational Church in Bridgeport, a fire) arises and a group of members will organize an event to raise funds to contribute. In the event of catastrophic events around the world, the church receives donations to aid in relief work and passes that money onto our Church World Service Network. 100% of these special donations go directly to the communities in need. Checks for these special gifts should be made out to Congregational Church of Salisbury with the specific emergency noted in the memo.

Pledges

The operating budget is mainly supported by the generosity of those who participate in the life of the church. An annual campaign is overseen by the Board of Trustees. Everyone who participates in the life of the church is asked to contribute as they are able. Offering envelopes are provided to those who request them. The Treasurer keeps track of all donations and provides a mid-year update and a year-end statement for tax purposes.

Planned Giving

Identifying the church as a recipient of gifts in your will helps to sustain the long term viability of the church. Such gifts are placed directly into the Endowment Fund, unless otherwise specified.

Memorial Gifts

Gifts to the church may be made in memory of loved ones at any time.

THERE IS ONE WHO SCATTERS, AND YET INCREASES ALL THE MORE, AND THERE IS ONE WHO WITHHOLDS WHAT IS JUSTLY DUE, AND YET IT RESULTS ONLY IN WANT. THE GENEROUS PERSON WILL BE PROSPEROUS, AND THEY WHO WATERS WILL THEMSELF BE WATERED.
