Over the past couple of weeks several volunteers in our church have reached out to front line workers in our church community and beyond by sending cards expressing our gratitude for their work. To date, 84 cards have been sent by 10 volunteers! We would like to continue this effort over the next few weeks, but we need your help! Do you know of front line workers in our community who would be touched by receiving a card of gratitude and recognition? Think of the people and places where you do business or who you know has been working outside the home during the pandemic. Please nominate them to receive our thanks! Please send me their name and address or where they work and a little bit about what they do—this helps our volunteers make the card more personalized. If you know the names of a group of workers at one place, this would also be helpful!
Send your card nominations to [email protected] or call me at (651) 238-1650.
The other way to help is to volunteer to be a card sender, which could even be done as a family project! The details are below! If you would like to show support and gratitude to those who have been out on the front lines serving others in person, we invite you to mail Gratitude with a Fold In It! Here is how it works: When you join this effort, you will be given 5 names (or as many as you request) and addresses from a list of people identified in our community as front line workers. Simply mail a card expressing gratitude for the work they do in our community on behalf of their church family. If you need supplies such as postage stamps, cards or cardstock to make your own cards, please let us know! We can also send you sample greetings you can use!
***This is a great activity you can do with your kids!***
If you are interested, please email Brenda Boone at [email protected] or call her at (651) 238-1650. Please indicate the best way to reach you, how many names you would like, and which supplies you need, if any!
